Big Bang North West 2015: 10,000 children inspired!

The figures are in and Team MerseySTEM are incredibly proud to say that we have inspired over 10,000 children with our Big Bang themed days and events – what an achievement!

On the 8th of July 2015, Aintree Racecourse erupted with innovation as close to 6000 school children attended The Big Bang North West! It was our biggest event to date– and FREE for all!

The Big Bang North West is a STEM celebration for children and part of a programme led by EngineeringUK.

The Big Bang events enable young people to discover the exciting and rewarding STEM based careers available in their local area via fun ‘quick hitting’ hands-on action!

Headline Sponsor AstraZeneca, Gold Sponsor The NHS and Silver Sponsors Sellafield, Amec Foster Wheeler, ScottishPower and The National Careers Service supported the event.

They provided funding, equipment and their own interactive educational stands that were second to none.

This combined with close to 4000 children taking part in North West Big Bang events in West Cumbria and Carlisle and local Little Big Bangs, along with MerseySTEM’s FREE Big Bang Zoobus & Science 2 U Days and we have a grand total of 10,000 young people!
