MerseySTEM STEM Ambassador: Rebecca Donnelly

It’s not just Team MerseySTEM who ‘make it happen’, our sensational STEM Ambassadors visit schools and events for FREE to support learning, teach workshops and pass on their amazing experiences.

Rebecca Donnelly recently attended our Engineering Your Future event. In her own words she described how rewarding being a STEM Ambassador can be!

“I am a second year PhD student at the University of Liverpool studying Mathematical Biology. I have been a STEM ambassador for two years and I love attending the events hosted by MerseySTEM such as Big Bang North West and the Engineering Your Future fairs. As well as providing a nice break from the office, volunteering at these events provide me with valuable work experience both with young people and in science communication – an area I would like to go into when I graduate. The enthusiasm of the students and the engaging conversations with the engineers and scientists running the events mean that I always leave with renewed excitement about science, although sometimes a little disappointed that I’m not an engineer myself!”

You could become a STEM Ambassador and inspire the thinkers of the future, just like Rebecca!
