Jaguar Land Rover: Apprenticeship Open Evening

Jaguar Land Rover, the UK’s largest automotive apprenticeship provider will soon launch its 2018 apprenticeship recruitment campaign. The company is looking for new recruits to join those who are currently undertaking the scheme across its UK sites.

The award-winning provides students with a strong blend of real world experience and academic learning. Applicants can choose from either the four year Advanced Apprenticeship aimed at GCSE level or the six year Degree Apprenticeship aimed at A-Level entrants. Recruits can look forward to working alongside world-class engineers, in cutting edge product development and manufacturing environments developing vehicles for two of the most iconic global motoring marques.

It critical that we attract the next generation of engineers and innovators to help our business achieve its ambitious plans for growth. To do this, we are fully committed to advancing the STEM agenda by inspiring young people in our local communities.”

On Thursday 12th October, Halewood Operations is running an Apprentice Open Evening, so young people who meet the recruitment criteria (outlined below) can find out more about our Advanced and Degree Apprenticeships. During the event, young people will have the opportunity to meet apprentices, find out more about the application process, ask questions about the apprenticeships and also have the chance to try some hands-on activities to get an insight into engineering careers.

Slots will run (maximum of 40 people per slot) every 30 minutes from 16.00 to 19.30. To book a slot, email Maureen McGuire for a booking form – [email protected] and return it by Monday 2nd October 2017.

Please note: Places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘First Come’ basis.
Confirmations will be issued within a week of receipt. The open evening is not part of the Apprenticeship recruitment process.

JAGUAR LAND ROVER APPRENTICESHIP CRITERIA

Advanced Apprenticeship
A four year Advanced Apprenticeship is designed for GCSE level, with a minimum of five grades A-C incl. English, Maths and Science/ Technology/ Engineering subjects. The programme focuses on roles in product development or manufacturing and combines real world experience with the acquisition of NVQ vocational qualifications and a technical certificate.

Degree Apprenticeship

The six year Degree Apprenticeship is designed for A-Level students who have acquired or expect to gain before September 1st 2017 A-Level Maths and Science/Technology/Engineering in addition to five GCSE’s at grades A-C incl. English, Maths, Science / Technology / Engineering subjects, or a BTEC level 3 (180 credits) with a merit in the Maths module or equivalent in an Engineering/Technology related subject. The programme focuses on roles in product development, , purchasing and manufacturing and combines real world experience with a fully-funded engineering degree from The University of Warwick.
