All About STEM: STEM Ambassador Training
All About STEM is pleased to be able to offer our STEM Ambassadors the opportunity to take part in various training sessions in the forthcoming months.
1. Lego Mindstorm Training
This session takes place at our Baltic office in Liverpool on Thurs 20th September, 2018, 09:30-15:30.
The session is provided for STEM Ambassadors who, following their training, would be able to use All About STEM’s Mindstorm kits to run activities with young people, either by themselves or as part of All About STEM events.
The training will be delivered by John Pinkney, LEGO Education Certified Trainer. John has vast experience as a teacher and with all LEGO Education products. He has also worked as a subject matter expert on LEGO MINDSTORMS® Education EV3, tailoring the resources to the UK curriculum.

2. Royal Statistical Society – Maths Activities
This session takes place at All About STEM’s Baltic office on Tues 18th Sept, 2018, 4-6pm.
STEM Ambassador and Chair of the regional Royal Statistical Society (RSS) group, Dr Laura Bonnett will provide some practical training based around the Hands-On Statistics activities developed by the RSS for use in a range of classroom and public engagement contexts.

3. Operational Research Society – Maths Activities
This session takes place on Thursday 22nd November, 2018, 4-6pm at the Astra Zeneca site in Macclesfield.
Think maths is important but not sure how you could promote it? Do you want to help inspire school students but not sure where to start?
The Operational Research Society and All About STEM are pleased to offer training for anyone interested in running workshops to enthuse children in maths, in schools, colleges, universities, at events or in club settings. No prior experience is necessary – just enthusiasm to show young people how important maths is!
This training is suitable for both new and existing STEM Ambassadors and will be delivered by the Education Team from the Operational Research Society.

4. Inspiring Young People in STEM – Online Courses
Develop your volunteering skills and STEM activities for young people with a program of flexible online CPD courses for STEM Ambassadors.
You can join and complete the online courses for free. However, if you wish to receive certification of completion, you will need to upgrade your account and pay a fee.
