CREST Awards: Perfect for Primary Schools!

CREST is a STEM enrichment programme for young people that inspires, enables and rewards open ended project work. CREST is not just for teens, children age 5 and upwards can get involved, learn and have fun!

Star and SuperStar resources can be completed easily by primary age children. They are shorter, exciting and interesting teacher-led activities.

If you run a youth, science or STEM Club, you can get involved too and CREST Awards can also be completed at home!

Star
Typically completed by 5-7 year olds (Key Stage 1), CREST Star challenges relate to children’s experiences. You don’t need to be a teacher, have a science background or have access to specialist equipment to run Star activities.

Star Awards are a great introduction to problem-solving in STEM. They offer children the opportunity to learn through hands-on challenges that focus on their everyday lives.

The children gain an appreciation of investigative work and develop key skills. After completing all eight challenges, each child receives a CREST Star certificate and iron-on badge.

SuperStar
Typically completed by 7-11 year olds (Key Stage 2), CREST SuperStar challenges relate to broader situations that children are likely to have come across. Like with CREST Star, you don’t need to be a teacher, have a science background or have specialist equipment to run SuperStar activities.

SuperStar Awards are a great introduction to problem-solving in STEM. They offer children the opportunity to learn  by exploring the world around them through interactive challenges.

After developing their investigative and teamwork skills and completing all eight challenges, each child will receive a CREST SuperStar certificate and iron-on badge.
