LCR Make It Work Schools Robotics Challenge: The Awards!
On the 26th of March, winning schools from across the region gathered at Exhibition Centre Liverpool to take part in the Grand Final of the LCR Make It Work Robotics Challenge, supported by the Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram and facilitated by All About STEM.
Along with our (now legendary) bot battle, we introduced a new set of awards to promote problem solving, creativity & team work to stretch our competitors & get them thinking & collaborating.
Skills Challenge Award
Rainford High School made light work of our slalom & demonstrated the best driving skills & control in the fastest time.
Constructor’s Award
All Saints Catholic High School proved themselves to be the best engineers with a quality build. Competitors were judged on efficiency, clean working & accuracy.
Team Work Award
Greenbank High School demonstrated the best teamwork & communication. The judging panel market them highest for creativity, determination, resilience & best use of skills in the team.
Brand Challenge Award
All teams were asked to design a brand for their robot.
Congratulations to Wade Deacon High School & Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy who gave phenomenal presentations, answered the judges questions & showcased their excellent communication skills.
Golden Allen Key Award
This award was for the superstar of the day! Our outstanding contribution award went to Beth Ormesher, Archbishop Beck Catholic College. Beth gave her all in the build & battle and stood out as a team player with innovative ideas.
