Celebrate International LEGO Day!
It’s International LEGO Day!
Take some time to channel your inner Master Builder and create something STEMsational.
Why not try the builds and activities below, we have ‘LEGO official’ instructions, competitions, ideas from a LEGO Masters Champion and more!
Build Ideas:
- Build along with the Canal & River Trust with step-by-step instructions from our friend, LEGO Masters Champion, Steve Guinness – The Brick Consultant.
Steve has so many fantastic tutorials on his new website and Twitter feed, including this mini-telescope.
- LEGO has building instructions online for all of their classic models. Just click a classic model box from this list and each box has ideas with easy to follow instructions.
- The First LEGO League is a fantastic opportunity for 4-16 year olds. There are three divisions (Discover, Explore & Challenge) and each has their own activities. The official launch takes place later in 2021 but The IET have resources for all three age ranges on offer until then. Get involved!
- Have you tried the new Official LEGO Building Instructions app?
It’s a great way to keep track of the LEGO kits you have and it’s packed with digital instruction books – so much inspiration!
- LEGO 90th Anniversary Celebration!
Help the LEGO Group choose a classic theme to be reimagined as a single new product for 2022! Vote on your favourite here.
- LEGO Education offer support on how to include LEGO in home and school learning – take a look at their resources and ideas!
- Teachers looking to bring LEGO to the classroom can visit Creative Hut for workshops and inspiration. Creative Hut also support schools who would like to get involved in LEGO competitions.
- Want more? My Kids Time have brought together over 50 LEGO builds including Pokeballs, gaming characters and more!
