STEM in Space – Virtual CPD sessions for KS1 – KS3 Teachers

Come to our interactive, virtual STEM in Space Teacher CPD session. 

Find out how to easily teach STEM in Space to your pupils, and a range of FREE interactive and inspirational activities.

Also find out more about the Aerospace sector in the North West and how to request STEM Ambassador support.

This session will cover activities linked to aerospace, Physics of Flight, Space STEM challenges, embedding Space into Literacy and PE and links to free resources. There will also be an interactive Q&A session with STEM Ambassadors.

Stratospheric STEM – Engineering at the Edge of Space
Virtual Resource Launch with BAE Systems for KS3 – KS5 Teachers

STEMFirst, the STEM Ambassador Hub for Lancashire and Cumbria, are delighted to have been working with BAE Systems to develop a STEM resource for KS3-5.

This resource is a challenge for students to work together in a team and conceptually design, plan and develop a customer proposal for a fleet of solar-powered planes to monitor a range of issues:

  • Monitoring space junk,
  • Monitoring ocean pollution,
  • Monitoring forest fires,
  • Monitoring polar icecap deterioration.

Come along to this VIRTUAL session to find out about this new virtual resource and how you can link STEM Ambassadors to this activity.  We will take you through the resource, give you the virtual links and give you ideas on how STEM Ambassadors can support your school. This activity is suitable for drop-down days or STEM Clubs.
