Celebrate 175 years of IMechE!
The 27th of January, 2022, marks 175 years since the foundation of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
“IMechE 175 represents an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our Institution and the huge contribution of mechanical engineering to society, whilst also inspiring a future generation of engineers.”
IMechE has a range of celebratory events taking place throughout 2022 with a focus on how engineers can continue to deliver their mission to ‘improve the world through engineering’, particularly in the areas of climate change, transport, education, and infectious disease control.
Events include:
Monday 24 January
- The launch of our Virtual Library Archive
Tuesday 25 January
- Flying our 175 flag from One Birdcage Walk
Wednesday 26 January
- ‘Celebrating 175 Years of Engineering Innovation: IMechE’s 175th Anniversary’ video
Thursday 27 January
- Sir Patrick Vallance will host a special guest lecture at One Birdcage Walk (Book Now)
Friday 28 January
- ‘I am IMechE’ video launch with Tokamak Energy
