Employers: Attract Diverse Young Talent Into Your Workforce

You can place talented young people at the heart of your organisation by hosting a Nuffield Research Placement.

Placements are offered to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to increase opportunities to access university courses and STEM-related careers. You can work with top students to make significant contributions to your research and development projects.

The on-site element of your placement will last for a maximum of two weeks. Projects must have broadly scientific or technical content, but they don’t have to be based in a laboratory. They might be office-based, include a lot of fieldwork or they might focus on engineering, data or computer science, or social science.

STEM Learning hosted a Virtual Business Breakfast to look at why and how employers can support young talent through placements in STEM to diversify their own future workforce.

This informative session discusses the need for STEM placements and covers the benefits of hosting, questions and advice, challenges, experiences and successes. Offering a placement can really make a positive impact!
