Educate Awards: Maghull High School Wins Outstanding Commitment to STEM Award!

It was a sensational night at the Educate AwardsWe were proud to sponsor The Outstanding Commitment to STEM Award for our eighth year and overjoyed to announce our amazing winner – Maghull High School!

Maghull High School is continually developing and expanding its STEM club and delivers a multitude of associated opportunities and activities to students.

Since its inception in 2016, its lead teacher has built a thriving club that gives its regular attendees, as well as students across the whole school, a chance to experience real-life STEM and discover the multitude of exciting careers which STEM has to offer.

Through STEM club, students at Maghull High School have had the opportunity to take part in national STEM competitions, meet many scientists and engineers as well as discovering science themselves through practical investigations and challenges beyond the science curriculum.

We really can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

All About STEM Managing Director, Michelle Dow, presented the award. Take a look at Maghull High School’s winning moment!

Runner up – Great Crosby Catholic Primary School

Earlier this year, Great Crosby Catholic Primary School held its first-ever Science Workplace Workshop, in conjunction with Smashing Stereotypes from British Science Week. The day was jam-packed full of exceptional activities, with special guests who work in STEM industries such as doctors, nurses, environmental advisors, and engineers.

Valewood Primary School was also invited to join in the fun and the two schools went above and beyond the science curriculum and inspired many children to have career aspirations in science industries.

HUGE congratulations to Maghull High School and well done to runner-up Great Crosby Catholic Primary School. Every year our schools’ phenomenal projects become more and more difficult to judge – so many astonishing and inspirational activities!

Educate Awards & The Outstanding Commitment to STEM Award

The Educate Awards is an annual awards ceremony celebrating education within the Liverpool City Region, Lancashire and Cheshire. Now in its eleventh year, the awards have grown due to the volume of entries and increased demand from schools to take part.

“This Outstanding Commitment to STEM award honours schools, academies and colleges which have a range of exceptional STEM activities or have developed successful STEM projects that promote the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects to all students. Judges will be looking for evidence of high levels of commitment to these subjects, which could either be a specific and successful STEM-based project or an overarching approach to STEM across the school or college.” – Educate Awards

The Educate Awards offers 21 accolades ranging from Teacher of the Year to Star Support Staff and SEND Provision, a night for regional schools to come together and celebrate their achievements.
