Unilever Opportunity: Product Design & Development Engineer Apprentice

Location: Unilever UK Ltd, Port Sunlight, Wirral Closing Date: 1 April 2024

Unilever is looking for a Product Design & Development Engineer Apprentice to complete a Level 6 degree apprenticeship to join their Beauty & Wellbeing (B&W) team.

Within this role, the apprentice will learn how to transform packaging ideas & concepts into technically feasible solutions and manufacturable products.

The apprentice will be part of a team designing consumer-relevant packaging formats considering; – materials, functionality and sensorial features, all through the lens of mass production techniques to deliver consumer-preferred, value-driven and sustainable packaging experiences.

The apprentice will be involved in:

  • Supporting a multi-functional team with design and engineering understanding for the creation of designs that meet consumer and business needs
  • Creating technical solutions including component and assembly design
  • Exploring feasibility with virtual and physical design exploration and validation (including various prototyping methods)
  • Focus on reducing environmental footprint of all packaging in line with the Unilever Sustainable living plan
