The All About STEM Competition!
The All About STEM Competition 2025 is in full swing, and the posters we’ve received are amazing!
Gather your students together, set them the challenge below and see what they come up with. Entries are open until the 20th of May 2025, so there’s plenty of time for them to get designing!
⚡️There is no theme this year, so all ideas are welcome – the possibilities are endless!
The All About STEM Competition invites learners aged 9 – 16 from across the North West of England to design a new product, idea, item, or approach that solves a problem facing our world, or the people in it. This could be a robot home assistant, a support solution for people in need, a sustainable product or a planet-friendly programme for your school.
We’ve received fantastic ideas in previous years, including a robot that waters your plants, a bin that organises waste, a futuristic canteen and a school wellbeing café. The Spy-Clip, which can help the wearer in emergencies, was a brilliant idea from one of our winning teams and we’ve even had a whole-school recycling scheme that creates fundraising products from bottletops!

The Competition is open to young people from the North West – Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. Students can enter the competition individually or in teams of up to 5.

All About STEM is making it happen across the North West. We work on lots of different projects to bring exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to schools across the region, linking them with business and industry expert volunteers inspiring the next generation of STEM specialists.
