All About STEM RESOURCE
The Wolfson Foundation
The Wolfson Foundation is a charity that was established in 1955. It aims to support excellence, generally through the funding of capital infrastructure in the fields of science and medicine, health, education and the arts & humanities.
The Wolfson Foundation currently allocates approximately £1.5 million each year, funding schools and sixth form colleges that have achieved a level of excellence or can demonstrate progressive improvement in their results.
Grants are made for science and technology, particularly providing suitable spaces for laboratories and helping towards the purchase of IT equipment.
Schools that may be eligible to apply are foundation, voluntary-aided and voluntary-controlled, academy, independent schools and sixth form colleges. Grants do not normally exceed £40,000, although higher grants may be offered to large sixth form colleges.
