STEM Ambassador Support, Training & Resources
This is the place to find out all about the support, training opportunities and resources available to support you in your role as a STEM Ambassador volunteer.
Volunteering as a STEM Ambassador is a great way to develop your own skill set and there are lots of training opportunities and resources available to help you get the best out of your experience.
The STEM Ambassador Handbook is a useful guide to keep on file. It provides practical information about getting started as a STEM Ambassador and how to get the most out of the programme for yourself as well as the schools, teachers, community groups and young people you may work with.
In addition to the initial online STEM Ambassador induction training, we encourage volunteers to complete the ‘Inspiring Young People in STEM’ series of free, online training courses:
Alongside regular opportunities to connect with our Hub staff for general programme support, we sometimes run other training, focused on particular themes or run by partners. These will be advertised via your regular STEM Ambassador newsletters.
Several of our Ambassadors or their companies have previously done the WISE ‘People Like Me’ training which has been relaunched as ‘My Skills My Life’ and has training available for STEM Ambassadors or their companies.
The STEM Learning website has a whole host of resources available to support you in your role, whether that’s with activity ideas or careers materials and our own Resources page has some useful information too.
Whatever it is you feel you need to get the best out of your experience as a volunteer, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
All About STEM is always out and about. Here we bring you stories of what we’ve done and news items about things we’re planning. We’re adding new items regularly so come back to see what we’re up to.
