BIODIVERSITY

A presentation or talk to the children about biodiversity, the environment and how we can promote a healthy balance. This could be at class, key stage ( 8 – 11 year olds) or whole school. A practical activity or task to support learning, either indoors or outside . We have extensive school grounds which we plan to develop with the pupils as part of an ongoing action plan.

LAB WORK EXPERIENCE

As part of Year 12 work inspiration programme, we are looking for our students from Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College to gain access to work experience in a labs based environment. It’s imperative for us as a school that our students receive work experience to help support their UCAS applications and to provide them with the opportunities to develop their contacts. Out students who would conduct work experience are 17+ and in sixth form. Each student could has to do 5 days on either of the following weeks: 25th June 2nd July 9th July

BIG BANG NORTH WEST COMPETITION JUDGES
Venue: Exhibition Centre Liverpool

The Regional Heat of the Big Bang Competition will be hosted at this years Big Bang North West, taking place on the 10th July at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool. The Big Bang Competition brings together the best school science and engineering projects from across the North West and pits them against each other to select the best to go through to the National Big Bang Finals in 2019. As part of the competition each project is judged and this year we are looking for Ambassadors to become judges.

The competition is split into two streams, Science and Engineering, and if you have experience in either of these fields and are free on the morning of the 10th July (08:30 – 13:00) we would like invite you to be a part of the judging team.

BIG BANG NORTH WEST VOLUNTEER

This year’s Big Bang North West will take place at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool on 10th July 2018. Our exhibitors, sponsors and presenters are planning lots of exciting and inspirational hands-on activities & shows. It’s shaping up to be an amazing event! However, the day wouldn’t be half as successful without the team of fantastic volunteers who give up their time to help support the event. We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to come and be part of the team that will deliver the Big Bang North West 2018. The volunteer role will include stewarding support, help with registration and helping with visitor enquiries on the show floor etc. Please do get in touch for further information.

Clifford Holroyde School work with young men with emotional and behavioural difficulties and deliver a great deal of vocational learning in the class room and would love employers in the following sectors who may be willing to work with students on their employability skills

The sectors are construction, catering, manufacturing (production line), retail and digital

PUPIL SUPPORT
Venue: Abbots Lea High School, Beaconsfield Road, L25

Abbots Lea High School work with students on the autistic spectrum, some of whom are very high achieving individuals. They would like some motivational speakers to attend school to explain about work opportunities in different occupational sectors. They are also very keen on taking out small groups (no more than 12) students to visit work places so students get a better sense of what happens in a variety of workplaces

PUPIL SUPPORT
Venue: Woolton High School, Woolton Hill Road, L25

Woolton High School work with students who have sensory, emotional and mental health issues e.g. behavioural, autistic, ADHD or Objectional Deficit Disorder. Initially the school are looking for employers who could offer a day a week’s work experience to a student for approximately 4 weeks. The school would be delighted to discuss the individual needs of each young person before an employer agreed to the request.
