Tomorrow’s Engineers Week
September 30th 2014

Tomorrow’s Engineers Week

Tomorrow’s Engineers Week takes place from 3-7 November 2014 and aims to change perceptions of engineering among young people, their parents and teachers. The week celebrates the everyday engineering heroes that design, create and innovate to improve our lives.

Launched by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in 2013, the first Tomorrow’s Engineers Week involved over 70 engineering organisations, 65 events or local activities and over 200 schools.

This year the Tomorrow’s Engineers Week campaign, led by EngineeringUK with the support of the engineering community and BIS, will use social media as well as traditional PR to shine the spotlight on engineering. Young people will have the chance to talk directly to engineers and win great prizes, as well as reach the people who influence them.

Highlights include:

  • The benefits of engineering careers to young people;
  • The opportunities for young people to experience these careers and to become the everyday engineering heroes of the future;
  • The many engineering jobs available to young people, especially girls.

You can find out more about the Tomorrow’s Engineers Week here or help by taking or sharing their employer or young engineer survey.
