Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre’s Girls Night Out: Transit of Mercury
Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre’s Girls Night Out is back with an evening of planetary wonder!
Monday 9th May, 5.30-8.30pm
Starting earlier in the evening than usual, visitors can watch live as Mercury crosses in front of the face of the Sun.
It’s a night of discovery with plenty of things to find out about Mercury including it’s crazy orbit and extreme temperature swings. There will also be a talk by NASA Scientist Natalie Batalha, who uses transits to detect planets around other stars – there’s even Mercury themed food and drink in the café!
Tickets can be purchased here or by telephone on 01477 571766
