LCR Careers Hub: Upcoming Virtual Events!
Our partnership with the Liverpool City Region Careers Hub allows us to combine our support and provide next-level remote teacher events in careers, apprenticeships, STEM, Gatsby Benchmarks and more.
Take a look at the fantastic sessions coming up. There are opportunities to request inspirational STEM ambassadors, meet local employers and take part in our new Teachers Lounge drop-in too!
Illuminating Careers with STEM Ambassadors
– Enhancing Gatsby Benchmark 5
15th April 5.45pm – 6.30pm followed by a Teachers Lounge from 6.30pm
STEM Ambassadors can help provide encounters with employers and employees as outlined under Benchmark 5 by providing presentations, workshops and hands-on activities related to work, employment and the skills used in the workplace. But how do you find one?
Come along to this session to find out what our STEM Ambassadors can do, how to request one and how to utilise them effectively to help contribute to your school’s careers plan and to enhance curriculum learning. Encounters with STEM ambassadors have been proven to increase engagement and understanding of STEM subjects as well as raise aspirations and knowledge of careers, so this opportunity is not to be missed!
Pick and Mix Your Own Careers Event

In this online session we will spotlight resources that you can put together to make your own bespoke in-school careers event.
With so much online content available, this session will highlight where to go for support and resources that are relevant to us in the Liverpool City Region.
Come away with a wide selection of options of where to find webinars, videos, masterclasses, inspirational speakers and much more.
Apprenticeships and Traineeships
– Supporting Gatsby Benchmark 7
29th April 5.45pm – 6.30pm followed by a Teachers Lounge from 6.30pm
In this online session we will showcase a full range of Apprenticeship resources for Teachers and Careers Advisers in the Liverpool City Region. As curriculum teachers, it is important you know all about the opportunities within our region to provide effective guidance in a curriculum-based setting.
We will talk you through the NEW ASK Offer Brochure which outlines how the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for Schools and Colleges Programme works and highlight a wide collection of student and parent resources for teachers to share, enabling students to continue to learn about apprenticeships and parents to find out more.
Spotlight on Careers and the Curriculum
– Gatsby Benchmark 4

Consider collaboration within your own settings in relation to careers information, advice and guidance and Gatsby Benchmark 4. We will explore the local collaborative approach to ‘Building Back Better’ and the current challenges to careers in light of the Covid 19 pandemic, as well as resources to support you in embedding careers within the curriculum.

Find out more about the local employer landscape in the Liverpool City Region. Hear from local employers about what they have to offer and how they can work to connect with your school to improve careers and employability skills.
Utilising Careers Resources

There is a wealth of careers resources out there, but how do you effectively use them in a classroom-based setting to enhance careers knowledge and underpin the Gatsby Benchmark principles? Find out how to use Creating Careers on demand videos and the wrap around pre and post work that makes it meaningful.
CREST Awards ‘Connecting to Careers in the Liverpool City Region‘

“What’s the point of this, miss?”
How do the skills pupils learn while completing CREST Awards help to enhance their transferrable skills that are essential for employment? What jobs in the Liverpool City Region use these skills?
This session will introduce you to CREST Award activities which can build transferrable skills for your pupils and relate to jobs within the Liverpool City Region.
All About STEM – All About Futures
Introducing… The Teachers Lounge!
Every week the team will be on hand (with a brew) to answer questions and queries or just for a chat about all the support available for you and your school. This also a great chance to network with your school neighbours.

All About STEM (All About Futures) is partnering with the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (Growth Platform), Career Connect, Sefton EBP, St Helens Chamber, Shaping Futures, Wirral Chamber and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to deliver the Careers and Enterprise Company’s Enterprise Adviser Network across the Liverpool City Region.
The Enterprise Adviser Network is a national network that looks to connect schools and colleges with employers and careers program providers, to create meaningful encounters for pupils with the world of work.
