Primary: Engineering Fairy Tales

This resource collection developed by STEMFirst provides several engineering or D&T activities that are set in the context of popular fairy tales.

Each activity finds a problem that a character in the story has and asks children to come up with an engineering solution for the problem. Children then work together in teams to design and make their solutions. A reading of each tale is provided in videos from real-life engineers.

These activities are a great way of linking D&T with learning in English. The stories have been provided by BAE Systems, the Royal Navy, British Army and the RAF.
