CEC: Talking Futures – Parent & Carer Careers Support
Schools and colleges can use the Careers & Enterprise Company’s new suite of resources to connect parents to their careers programme.
“Parents and carers are influential on their child’s choices and career decisions and therefore are key players in shaping what their best next step might be. In partnership with the Gatsby Foundation, we have developed Talking Futures: a campaign to help parents have more constructive and informed careers conversations with their child.”

The Talking Futures Toolkit features a range of tools and activities including:
– Parent-facing activities for events such as parents’ evenings and family learning sessions.
– Student-facing activities to reinforce parents’ role in decision-making.
– Support for Careers Leaders to identify activities that will complement existing provision.
– Practical tips and guidance on how to deliver each type of activity.
– A range of preparation activities to help you and parents get the most out of each session.
