Teaching Primary Science: Exploring Space
Discover how space exploration can inspire your primary science students and engage them in working scientifically.

Explore the Moon, Mars and deep space with your primary pupils through practical activities and the exciting context of space exploration when teaching the primary curriculum. Learn about current and future space missions, aiming to explore our solar system and beyond. Discover effective ways in which to engage pupils in science and wider STEM activities linked to space exploration.
Taking part in this CPD will provide evidence for the Space Education Quality Mark (SEQM).
Teaching Primary Science: Human Space Flight
Online, self-paced course. Participants can join and start this course at any time after the advertised date.
The context of human spaceflight provides an engaging way for learning STEM subjects. There are many topics in the primary science curriculum where you can use the theme of space to engage pupils. For example, designing an astronaut’s space suit can bring in aspects of the science curriculum to do with properties and the uses of materials. Exercise, keeping healthy and having a balanced diet can be applied to an astronaut’s training regime and their time in space. You will also consider cross-curricular links, for example, to numeracy and literacy. Through this course, you will access classroom resources and activities that develop practical skills and support working scientifically.
Taking part in this CPD will provide evidence for the Space Education Quality Mark (SEQM).

All About STEM works on lots of exciting STEM projects. As part of the STEM Learning family, we manage the STEM Ambassador Hub in Merseyside, Cheshire and Warrington, working closely with the regional Science Learning Partnerships in Merseyside and Warrington and Cheshire and Wirral.
We also manage the STEM Enrichment Partnership for the North West which includes STEM Clubs, ESERO UK (Space) and Nuffield Research Placements.
