Great Science Share: NEW Guided Enquiries & Enrichment Activities

If your school is participating in The Great Science Share on the 11th of June 2024, check out their NEW guided enquiries and enrichment activities.

There are lots of different themes for your learners to choose from – great for the lead-up to the big day!

Teachers’ notes, videos and links to resources are included.

Great Computing Share

“Investigate and animate with micro:bits & Scratch, developed with Barefoot Computing.”
Topics include working scientifically and block coding.

Great Quantum World

“Enquiries linked to Izzy Jones’s Quantum World in partnership with the NAME Quantum scientists.”

Great Fashion Share

“Investigate fabrics used in clothing and consider the issues of fast fashion.”
Topics include working scientifically, materials and their properties.

Great Sports Share

“Inspired by the Olympics with support from Explorify and BBC micro:bit playground survey.”
Topics include working scientifically, the human body, muscles and fatigue.

Great Science Poetry Share

“Inspiring science through poetry with Creative Manchester, themed around Sustainable Science.”

Great Question Ponder

“Encourage talk and higher order thinking about sustainability linked to each guided enquiry.”

Great My Science Club

Inspire discussions about protecting our planet!
Aimed at ages 5-11.

Great Science Shout Out

Students can write and share letters about why science is important.

The Great Science Share for Schools is the award-winning campaign that invites 5-14 year olds to share their own scientific questions and investigations, to raise the profile of science in schools and communities, and inspire young people into science and engineering.

British Science Week

The Great Science Share for Schools is working in partnership with British Science Week. Their themes of Time and Sustainable Science can be combined – it’s a 2-4-1 for learning!

All About STEM is making it happen across the North West. We work on lots of different projects to bring exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to schools across the region, linking them with business and industry expert volunteers inspiring the next generation of STEM specialists.
