Destination STEM Week!
Sustainability for a Greener World – 1-5 July 2024
“Destination STEM is excited to be exploring the world of sustainability through the knowledge and expertise of those seeking to effect change and make a difference. Through a series of videos, live webinars, articles, ideas, practical activities and opportunities, young people aged 11-18 and their educators can expand their knowledge, question the world around them and seek to find ways they too could make a difference!” – STEM Learning
Destination STEM has collaborated with a wealth of organisations and individuals to create a fascinating collection that explores sustainability, what it means and how scientific research and industry are tackling climate change, reducing carbon emissions and finding solutions to real problems.
Destination STEM Week is available to all UK schools, colleges, sixth-form centres and universities. Content is most suitable for young people aged 11-18, older and younger people are welcome.

The week is packed with inspiration! Here’s a brief overview:
Monday 1 July 2024 – Sustainable Environment – Reducing carbon emissions, eco-friendly buildings, environmental study and supporting environmental recovery, restoring natural resource environments, ecological agriculture etc.
Tuesday 2 July 2024 – Sustainable Engineering – Food production and preservation, housing and shelter, waste disposal and management, pollution reduction, space-led innovation, water supplies, transportation, improvements in industrial processes etc.
Wednesday 3 July 2024 – Sustainable Technology – Innovative solutions to environmental challenges, optimising the use of resources and reducing greenhouse gases, Earth observation, use of big data etc.
Thursday 4 July 2024 – Sustainable Energy – Energy reduction, workplace and building management, transition to net zero, transport, eco-friendly power and energy systems, etc.
Friday 5 July 2024 – Sustainable Economy – Work-place transformation, circular economy, sustainable supply chains, recycle-reuse-reduce, repurposing of materials etc.
