CREST Awards: British Science Week Activity Packs
The NEW British Science Week Activity Packs are OUT NOW!
Choose from Early Years, Primary or Secondary.
The British Science Association has created these booklets in partnership with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and they are brilliant resources packed with project ideas and information on running CREST Awards.
Along with projects for ages 5-14, you can find sections on unlocking skills and Smashing Stereotypes with stories from inspirational scientists! There’s even a whole-school activity and an assembly plan included.
All packs include a competition covering ages 3-19, so younger and older learners don’t miss out. Check the last page of your pack to find out more.
British Science Week takes place 7-16 March 2025 and this year’s theme is ‘Change & Adapt’.
You can tag photos of your activities on social media with #BSW25 and @ScienceWeekUK.
British Science Week & CREST Awards
Many of the activities in the BSW packs are CREST accredited, so if you enjoy using them, why not think about running a CREST Award? CREST Awards give students real-life experience of being a scientist while getting introduced to STEM project work. They are nationally accredited and are a fun, yet educational way to get your children involved in STEM subjects.

Don’t forget, the BSW website offers an archive of activity packs – you can grab all the ideas they have shared over the years!
As North West Regional CREST Support Organisation, All About STEM promote CREST Awards across the region and point schools & clubs to the support they need to run this amazing scheme. CREST Awards encourage students to work like scientists, researchers, engineers and designers to investigate and explore their own project ideas.
