CREST Awards: HAF Suppliers & Holiday Clubs

We know there are many fantastic holiday clubs & HAF suppliers offering fun and inspirational activities for children and young people when school is out.

If you’re organising a holiday club or HAF programme, CREST Awards could be perfect!

CREST Awards can be undertaken in youth group settings, at school or college or within an after-school club. During a CREST Award project, children and young people take on the roles of scientists, researchers, engineers and designers. The programme engages and inspires 3 to 19 year olds and projects can be completed in as little as 45 minutes (depending on the level).

The programme is flexible, longer projects can be split over multiple sessions.

When the project is completed and submitted, the work is assessed, and successful individuals can receive a personalised CREST Awards certificate*.

In addition to giving young people the opportunity to undertake hands-on science, CREST Awards also build skills that are transferrable to other subjects, further education and future employment (time management, project management, teamwork and communication).

Projects for SEND students are also available.

More about HAF

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is a scheme funded by the Department for Education. It gives children who are eligible for free school meals the opportunity to take part in fun, enriching activities and receive a healthy meal. It runs during Easter, summer and the Christmas school holidays,

Councils work with local schools, voluntary and community organisations as well as childcare providers to deliver the HAF programme to eligible pupils.

As North West Regional CREST Support OrganisationAll About STEM (All About Futures) promote CREST Awards across the region and point schools & clubs to the support they need to run this amazing scheme. CREST Awards encourage students to work like scientists, researchers, engineers and designers to investigate and explore their own project ideas.
