Practical Action Science Resources

Practical Action have released four new resources that help pupils make the link between science and poverty reduction. Each unit focuses on practical, enquiry based learning and has comprehensive teacher notes, pupil worksheets, PowerPoints and links to secondary sources of materials.

Water!Water! ( KS2, 7-11 years)  Looks at why we need clean water, global access to water and how it can be cleaned.

The meal deal ( KS3, 11-14) Investigates cooking and testing food, the efficiency of fuels, and the impact of smoke on health.

Wild weather ( KS3, 11-14 years) Focuses on looking at how science can be used to mitigate against the impact of flooding and drought cause by climate change.

Food preservation  ( KS4, 14-16 years) Explores the role of food preservation in global food security and the science behind different preservation techniques
