MerseySTEM Chemistry at Work Event: November 2015

On the 11th of November 2015, MerseySTEM facilitated another amazing Chemistry at Work event in conjunction with The Royal Society of Chemistry at Sci-Tech Daresbury.

DEYES S2U 4

Throughout the course of the day students attended hands-on workshops from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Science and Technology Facilities Council, Science2U & Techniquest Glyndŵr.

MOSSLANDS S2U 2

Schools attending included Rainford High School, Weaverham High School, St Ambrose Barlow RC High School, Birkdale High School, Deyes High School, Bellerive Catholic High School, Tytherington School & The Mosslands School.

Students enjoyed the fun, interactive learning experiences and left with a real sense of how Chemistry applies in the real world. They had the opportunity to experience everything from micro-measuring experiments  to creating bath bombs – no explosions thankfully!

“WOW! Micro pipettes can measure really small stuff!”
