MerseySTEM Chemistry at Work Event: December 2015

On the 3rd of December 2015, MerseySTEM facilitated another amazing Chemistry at Work event in conjunction with The Royal Society of Chemistry at Sci-Tech Daresbury.

Throughout the course of the day students attended hands-on workshops from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Science and Technology Facilities Council, Science2U & Farm Urban.

Schools attending included Blacon High School, Cardinal Newman Catholic High School, Wade Deacon High School, Bridgewater High School, Bebington High School, Kirkby High School, Range High School, Broughton Hall High School, Upton Hall School and Stanley High School.

Students enjoyed the fun, interactive learning experiences and left with a real sense of how Chemistry applies in the real world – everything from creating sustainable solutions to concocting bath bombs!

MerseySTEM’s Managing Director Michelle Dow explained the concept, “Chemistry at Work events offer young people the opportunity to appreciate the place of chemistry in everyday life and the world of work.”
