MerseySTEM sponsor Match for the Day for Marie Curie
MerseySTEM are proud to be a returning sponsor for Match for the Day 2016.
Match for the Day is a 24 hour 5-a-side football match, raising money for Marie Curie. Our Events Manager Tim Wright will be back to take part, come join the fun, support, play or donate!
Match for the Day is an annual charity event created by two local brothers in honour of their mother. The 24 hour football game has taken place each year since 2014.
“Before she passed away, Mum knew that we were planning to organise another MFTD and requested that it was in aid of Marie Curie.”
“The care they gave her during her years of treatment and especially during her last weeks and hours was amazing. As she said herself on numerous occasions – ‘it was 7 star!!'”
The event will have 2 core squads who will be involved for the whole 24 hours but other players are encouraged to come and play for a period of time. Previous years have seen around 150 players taking part at some point over the 24 hours.
