Science4Society Week 2016: 14th to 20th March
Science4Society Week runs for its second year from the 14th to the 20th of March 2016. The initiative provides an expanded range of inspiring education activities for young people, including a new ‘Design an Eco-Community’ competition.
This year’s activities include:
Interactive lessons on Science, Technology and Ethics
An exciting range of classroom activities including:
o planning renewable energy schemes
o calculating water footprints
o building model wind or water turbines, dams and flood resistant homes, and innovative transport solutions
o debating ethical issues in science, design and technology such as food security, antibiotic resistance, and waste reduction
Design an Eco-Community competition – the four finalists from across the North of England have just been announced and will have as their prize a VIP visit on 16th March to Lancaster Cohousing an eco-community.
