International Women in Engineering Day 2018
The Women’s Engineering Society (WES) has launched International Women in Engineering Day 2018!
The theme this year is ‘Raising the Bar’, which gives you the opportunity to show the world how you are making positive change in what you do and how you do it. Whether professionally, through studying or perhaps by creating a more diverse workplace. WES want to hear from individuals and organisations making both large strides and small steps to raise awareness. They hope to see lots of people and organisations demonstrating how they will be #RaisingTheBar for #INWED18 through events, activities and social media.
As in previous years they are expecting a plethora of female talent to be showcased and to see a huge number of events for people to participate in worldwide.
This year is also the ‘Year of Engineering‘ and 100 years since (some) women were given the vote, so 2018 is particularly poignant and they are excited to see how this might influence your #INWED18 celebrations either on Saturday 23 June or in the weeks leading up to, or following the day.
How will you take part?
Start planning for #INWED18 – Saturday 23 June 2018
Download the Resource Pack
– If you haven’t already, download the resource pack for information, ideas and tips to have the best event possible.
– Follow INWED18 on Twitter and use the hashtag #INWED18 in your social media communications
– Schedule some tweets for 23 June (INWED) this will help greatly with the aim of reaching the number 1 trending spot!
– A media kit is available to download here and notes some example tweets for you to use if you see fit.
– Have your office, organisation and teams all over pose with the #INWED18 selfie cards and post your pictures on social media tagging us (#INWED18 @INWED1919 #RaisingTheBar)
– There are also Thunderclap and Twibbon campaigns running, click the links to get involved and show your support
– Send photos on the day of your event to INWED18!
(Please ensure that your attendees complete their Photo Release Form so that they can use them in their marketing for next year’s INWED. Please note: This document is 2 pages (1 form for adults and 1 for children).
– Post event, please complete their Event Evaluation Form and ask attendees to complete their Feedback Form for participants.
