Big Bang North West: Big Bang @ Priestley College
What a STEMsational day!
On the 14th of February, Priestley College hosted a Big Bang event for local schools facilitated by The Big Bang North West and generously sponsored by Higher Horizons.
Beamont Collegiate Academy, Padgate Academy, Penketh High School & Bridgewater High School had the opportunity to enjoy numerous exciting hands-on STEM activities ranging from explosive chemistry to flying drones!
Priestley College offered workshops in physics, chemistry & electronics. Students made working water wheels, controlled LEGO Mindstorms robots for a Mars mission and witnessed amazing chemical reactions!
It’s not every day you can make your own eco-system. Students worked with Farm Urban to build their own Produce Pods and learned all about aquaponics.
Skill Supply UK brought along their enormous map & containment cage. Everyone enjoyed coding their own flight path & flying drones… in school!
All About STEM (the team behind The Big Bang North West) offered attendees the change to battle it out with their bots in an exciting arena style match (after completing a tricky robot assault course!).
