Big Bang North West 2019: Network Rail – An Ozobot Experience & More!
With a fantastic range of activities, we’re looking forward to welcoming Network Rail to The Big Bang North West 2019!
Their stand will be packed but we’re most excited about their awesome Ozobots.
These award-winning robots are designed specifically for the next generation of creators. They can be coded two ways: online with OzoBlockly and screen-free with Color Codes. An inspirational way for young minds to go from consuming technology to creating it… and they’re so much fun!
The purpose of Network Rail is to own, operate, and maintain the UK’s rail infrastructure – managing the tracks, land, property, bridges, tunnels, signals, stations and communications.
At The Big Bang North West you can find out what it takes to ensure over 4.5 million people get to their destination safely every day!
Did you know?
- Network Rail have replaced over 13.5 million tonnes of ballast – the equivalent weight of almost 200 QE2s.
- You can fit four railway lines into one three-lane motorway, with one freight train taking the equivalent of 50 lorries off our roads.
- Network Rail renew an average of one-and-a-half miles of track every day – replacing enough in 4 years to take you from London to Egypt’s Great Pyramids!
