The Careers & Enterprise Company is offering a new resource, ‘Supporting Employers: Working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities’.

“Written with the input, shared experiences and learning from Employers and Enterprise Advisers, this resource will guide you through the three key stages of engaging with young people with SEND.  Employers can follow the stages or dip in and out dependent on their level of knowledge and the stage they are at.”

Stage 1: Awareness and Engagement
Resource 1: The Careers Landscape
Resource 2: The benefits and challenges
Resource 3: Engaging with a School, Special School or College

Stage 2: Planning and Implementation
Resource 4: Tips for effective communication
Resource 5: Gaining Support from different stakeholders
Resource 6: Guidance on choosing and planning an activity

Stage 3: Evaluation and Review
Resource 7: Gathering feedback and learnings from activities

All About STEM (All About Futures) is partnering with the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, Career Connect, Sefton EBP, St Helens Chamber and Wirral Chamber to deliver the Careers and Enterprise Company’s Enterprise Adviser Network across the Liverpool City Region.

The Enterprise Adviser Network is a national network that looks to connect schools and colleges with employers and careers program providers, to create meaningful encounters for pupils with the world of work.
