CREST: Bronze Grand Challenges
Can your students design a trustworthy machine or build an app for good?
If you’re a teacher looking for project ideas, CREST offers an amazing range of resources for ages 5-19!
For secondary students, the Bronze Grand Challenges are a great place to start. Over the course of the project, teams of students design their own investigation, record their findings, and reflect on their learnings. This process gives students a taste of what it is like to be a scientist or engineer in the real world.
The first 4 Grand Challenges are focused on the global trends which will transform our future:
- Artificial Intelligence and Data
- Ageing Society
- Clean Growth
- Future of Mobility
It’s all about developing ideas to make a difference and inspiring the next generation of STEM experts!
Levels: CREST covers all ages from 5 – 19

As North West Regional CREST Support Organisation, All About STEM promote CREST Awards across the region and point schools & clubs to the support they need to run this amazing scheme. CREST Awards encourage students to work like scientists, researchers, engineers and designers to investigate and explore their own project ideas.
