NEW: The Royal Society – Brian Cox School Experiments (11-14)
There’s a classroom video for every experiment!
Following the amazing success of Brian Cox’s first series of school experiments, The Royal Society has produced a new set of videos and resources based on new and emerging technologies, featuring Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock.
The resources explore topics including genome editing, robotics and ocean acidification. There are classroom videos to introduce each experiment along with industry and research videos to accompany each session.
Experiments include:
– Can we design a robotic arm?
– How does washing affect the number of fibres released from a fleece?
– Do sun and shade plants have different rates of photosynthesis?
– What is the effect of data size on a sorting activity?
– What is the best design for a wind turbine? (This one is a CREST Award too!)
– Does CO2 affect the pH of seawater and how does acidity affect the strength of seashells?
All experiments are aimed at 11-14s, linked to curriculum topics and simple to carry out.
All About STEM is making it happen across the North West. We work on lots of different projects to bring exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to schools across the region, linking them with business and industry expert volunteers inspiring the next generation of STEM specialists.
