Unilever Work Experience: Fantastic Feedback!
Picture a student on work experience and you might visualise a teenager making coffees, doing printer runs or quietly observing professionals at work.
Not so at Unilever R&D Port Sunlight, where students from across the region are taking on the roles of Unilever R&D professionals to design, formulate and pitch a brand-new product.
It’s all part of Unilever’s STEM outreach designed to build a future talent pipeline and position Unilever as the place to innovate!
All About Futures manages the Unilever R&D Port Sunlight Work Experience Programme, which gives successful applicants the opportunity to experience the range of functions that take place across the Port Sunlight site including: Formulation, Digital, Packaging, Consumer Technical Insight and Processing.
Throughout their experience, learners discover the processes of working for a fast-moving consumer goods company and what it entails – from concept development to the product launch on market shelves.
Currently, we are on Week 2 of 4 of the programme, and we’re excited to share some of the amazing feedback we have received. It’s fantastic to hear the benefits of this programme directly and how Unilever are inspiring learners & illuminating careers!
The team has also presented our first cohort with their completion certificates.

Unilever Work Experience relies on volunteer support across several functions and categories within Port Sunlight, including Beauty and Wellbeing CTI and packaging, Home Care CTI and processing, Hair formulation, MIF measurement scientists, formulation and data scientists.
A huge thank you to Unilever for giving their time, being inspirational, offering this phenomenal programme and providing learners with these amazing opportunities!
