Unilever Year 12 Work Experience Programme
All About STEM is now accepting applications for the
Unilever R&D Port Sunlight 2020 Work Experience Programme.
The programme is suitable for Year 12 students interested in a career in science or who plan to study a science based degree course.
Students can apply to take part in a week-long placement commencing on one of the following dates:
15th June 2020
22nd June 2020
29th June 2020
6th July 2020
The week will include an overview of Unilever as an organisation, the types of careers available in R&D and the recruitment routes, including apprenticeships and Year in Industry.
Students will spend time in the different departments during the week, to gain an overview of the product development process, through formulation development, testing of prototypes and consumer insights. Where possible, they will also gain some practical experience of working in labs.
Applications must be made on the Work Experience Application Form, available in the Downloads section below, and should be endorsed by a teacher to confirm the suitability of the student for the programme offered.
As places are limited, students who have attended previously will not be considered.
Applications must be received by 31st January 2020.
Application is not a guarantee of acceptance, and forms received after the closing date will not be considered.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of February 2020.
In addition to seeking a Work Experience Placement, students may also wish to consider applying for a Nuffield Research Placement, which gives them the opportunity to work alongside professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians for 4 – 6 weeks over the summer holidays. A Nuffield Research Placement can also be used to complete a Gold CREST Award.
