I’m a Scientist Get me out of here are offering free Science Debate Kits as part of their ongoing online events.
The Science Debate Kits develop students’ discussion skills around scientific issues. They contain 8 debate cards outlining the opinions of fictional characters with an interest in a given science topic, and teachers notes to help you to carry out the lesson effectively. Some of our debate kits also include online resources.
The science curriculum calls for a greater understanding of the limitations of science and the potential ethical questions surrounding it. These free debate kits are designed to meet this demand. Their neutrality, together with role play, offers students the opportunity to explore the different sides of the issue and compare others’ points of view.
