All About STEM take the Mersey Tunnel Tour – ‘Fantastic for budding engineers!’

Wow! All About STEM would like to give a HUGE ‘thumbs up’ to Mersey Tunnel Tours for an amazing day. We highly recommend this interesting & fun excursion – “It’s fantastic for budding engineers!”

Journey deep into a man-made marvel!

“A fascinating insight into the history of Liverpool”
Opened in 1934, the Queensway Tunnel has helped to shape Merseyside as we know it today.

This tour takes you for a unique behind the scenes look at Georges Dock Building which is an engineering masterpiece. View the ventilation station with it’s giant fans, learning how they work and how the Tunnel was constructed. You will also see the original Tunnel Control Room.
“We’ll take you beneath the city to see parts of the historic Georges Dock, built in 1771 and then on to view the Tunnel road surface.”

Did you know that Queensway Tunnel has been used as a location for film & TV, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1), Fast and Furious 6, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Foyle’s War and Al’s Lads.

This unique experience is one that you won’t easily forget!
