CREST Awards: Practical Action STEM Challenge – Ditch the Dirt
Ditch the Dirt is Practical Action’s exciting new STEM challenge for pupils aged 8-14 years. They are offering FREE resources and it’s a fantastic way for students to gain a CREST Award!
Set in the context of accessing clean water in Kenya it enables pupils to model and test filters as a way of making dirty water cleaner. It can also be used to explore ways of making water safe to drink.
Ditch the Dirt offers a:
• Perfect challenge to deliver parts of the science, D&T & maths curricula
• Great activity for a science or STEM club, transition or enrichment day
• Way for pupils to gain a CREST Award
• Opportunity to highlight links between STEM and the Global Goals
