Big Bang North West: The Techniquest Glyndŵr & Catalyst Experience!
We are overjoyed to announce that Catalyst & Techniquest Glyndŵr Science Discovery Centres will be joining forces again for The Big Bang North West 2018! Along with awesome environmental activities, they will be bringing mini versions of their STEM-sational centres for you to enjoy.
Techniquest Glyndŵr, in partnership with Catalyst, are hosting the national programme ‘Operation Earth’. To celebrate the wonders of the amazing environmental science research being done in the UK, the Natural Environment Research Council has partnered with the UK Association of Science and Discovery Centres to deliver exciting and engaging activities for families. The show will be running at Techniquest Glyndŵr until the end of July, then continuing at Catalyst later in the summer.
As well as this Techniquest Glyndŵr Science Communicator’s will deliver live science demonstrations and hands on activities aimed to enthuse and inspire interest in the STEM subjects.
Catalyst Science Discovery Centre would like to introduce you to their poorly character Earthy. Step inside their air sampling laboratory and have fun catching the particles that make up our air. Find out what you can do to make Earthy feel better. Use microscopes and their air visual node to investigate the quality of air around you.
Techniquest Glyndŵr Science Discovery Centre brings hands-on science to life with over 65 interactive exhibits and live science shows designed to engage and enthuse audiences of all ages with science, technology, engineering and maths.

Catalyst is an interactive science centre with a chemistry focus. There are lots of exciting options when you visit Catalyst. As well as visiting the museum galleries, you can choose from a range of hands on workshops and shows for schools during term time. During the holidays there are interactive events for all the family.
