BOOK NOW: The Liverpool ‘TEAM SCIENCE’ Teachmeet!

Are you a science teacher in Merseyside? Or are you involved in science and interested to have your say? Then sign up and come along to the first ever Liverpool based Science Teachmeet!

The second Team Science organised TeachMeet as a morning event hosted in June for the North West that will have the theme of ‘The world belongs to the curious: how to make this a reality?’. Come along and enjoy teacher-led presentations and discussions.

  • Teachers across the North West have the opportunity to network and meet one another.
  • Share good practice from in the classroom and lab.
  • Discuss the theme of curiosity and how to ignite that flame for pupils and staff.

What is a TeachMeet?

A TeachMeet is an organised but informal meeting (in the style of an unconference) for teachers to share good practice, practical innovations and personal insights in teaching in line with a common theme – in this vcase, the world belongs to the curious. This one is even more special because you’ll get a buffet lunch included!

How Can I Get Involved?

There are three ways you can be involved with the TeachMeet in June;

You can visit purely to network and listen to all the great ideas from science teacher across the North West (General Admission ticket). It is free and will mean you can listen to a series of short presentations on a variety of topics all linked to curiosity in science.

You can deliver your own nano presentation (around 2 minutes). This is for anyone who feels they have something useful to share with the science teaching community linking to curiosity in science. Whether it be a teaching tip, an online resource or a useful industry link, it doesn’t matter, get involved!

The third way is to deliver a micro presentation (a little longer for this one, around 7 minutes). This is perfect for anyone who wants to delve a little deeper into an area of interest linking to curiosity in science.

Who Is Team Science?
Team Science was set up so that those involved with science education had a platform to easily share resources, ideas and open up a dialogue with one another.

The Venue
The venue is Liverpool Life Science UTC, the first school in the UK specialising in Science and Health Care for 14 to 19-year-olds. Their school is based in an amazing Grade 2 listed building, in the heart of the new Knowledge Quarter in Liverpool that has been restored with state-of-the-art facilities.
