18 March: Mars Day Virtual Event!

Mars Day 2021 is an exciting free new virtual event adventure for everyone, organised by the UK Space Education Office (ESERO-UK), STEM Learning and the UK Space Agency.

Register for an awesome array of live link-ups, talks and fireside chats from national and international space VIPs…

Over the course of one day, Mars Day 2021 will celebrate the NASA Perseverance Rover’s first month on Mars; unveil the role of the UK space industry in this mission and beyond; host UK STEM Ambassador and school sessions with live Q&A’s.

Highlights include:

Tim Peake – European Space Agency astronaut and the first British astronaut to visit the International Space Station. His Principia mission was an eventful and busy six months in space with Tim being the first Briton to walk in space.

NASA Mars 2020 Perseverance Mission – meet Sophia Mitchell, Lead Systems Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Part of the flight operations team and a driver for the Mars Curiosity rover, Sophia’s next mission is to drive the Perseverance rover.

Dr Jim Green – NASA Chief Scientist. As the former Director of the agency’s Planetary Science Division, Dr Green has had his hands in every significant NASA space mission since 1980 including the current Perseverance mission.

Dr Andrew Aldrin – President and CEO of the Aldrin Family Foundation. Dr Aldrin, Buzz Aldrin’s son, is dedicated to creating the next generation of space leaders, entrepreneurs and explorers by igniting the passion for STEM subjects through the wonder of space.
