Time for Change: Bridging the gap between school and apprenticeships
Are schools/colleges preparing students for the workplace? Are they informing them about all of their career choices? Are they aware that we employ apprentices? Do they know how we can support disadvantaged young people to enter the world of work?
There are many questions asked – and many assumptions made – about the careers provision in schools and whether it is suitable or effective in supporting disadvantaged young people into apprenticeships. More times than not, schools may not be given the credit they are due.
In this Time for Change workshop, Amazing Apprenticeships explore the experiences and challenges of teachers and careers advisers in providing advice and guidance on apprenticeships to their disadvantaged students and capture their thoughts on how employers can work with, engage and provide appropriate information to schools to ensure they can support their students to access those opportunities.
