There are loads of different career opportunities in the NHS - so why do pupils always think it's just doctors and nurses?
MerseySTEM has been working with the NHS for several years ensuring that schools in the region can access ambassadors who work in the NHS. We were then approached to assist them in providing innovative workshops to improve their outreach and careers advice.
MerseySTEM has been working with Classroom Medics to produce hands on workshops to show a range of NHS careers and the wide variety of STEM subjects that are useful in health and allied professions.
We’re completing a comprehensive evaluation of these workshops in terms of value for money and improvement in careers knowledge. We’ll then be recommending other strategies to compliment these workshops.
When the project is finished we’ll be helping roll out the project nationally.
All About STEM is always out and about. Here we bring you stories of what we’ve done and news items about things we’re planning. We’re adding new items regularly so come back to see what we’re up to.
