This summer The National STEM Centre has three fantastic 1 day conferences designed for primary school teachers.

Primary Mathematics Conference

Date
29 June

An inspiring day of workshops and an opportunity to discuss mathematics education with a broad range of colleagues.

Keep your school updated on what is happening in the World of Primary Mathematics including looking at the key strategies learnt from the England China Exchange Programme, and preventing mathematics difficulties through an inclusive intervention approach. Find out practical ways of teaching those areas of the curriculum which are new at primary or always prove to be tricky such as algebra, fractions and problem solving and all about assessment without levels.

Primary Science Conference

This successful annual event is jointly organised by the National Science Learning Centre and the Association for Science Education (ASE).

Over one day it will bring together primary teachers, science subject leaders and teaching assistants who are interested in developing science within their schools.

There will be a range of optional sessions to choose from, which will enable you to tailor the conference to your requirements. Throughout the day you will have time to share good practice with colleagues and explore the National STEM Centre, which houses the UK’s largest collection of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) classroom teaching resources and an exhibition of primary resources with major publishers represented.

Primary Computing Conference

A day of high quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD), this course is aimed at primary Computing coordinators, leadership, classroom teachers and assistants.

There will be a range of optional sessions to choose from, which will enable you to tailor the conference to your requirements. Throughout the day you will have time to share good practice with colleagues and explore the National STEM Centre, which houses the UK’s largest collection of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) classroom teaching resources and an exhibition of primary resources with major publishers represented.

Fancy something out of this world? Come to the ESERO-UK Primary Conference

ESERO-UK will be holding their annual conference alongside the UK space conference in Liverpool. Participants will be able to engage in activities linked to British ESA astronaut Tim Peake’s mission to the International Space Station in November 2015. The conference will cost £30 plus VAT, and there is a £50 ESERO-UK grant available.
