Event: The Make It in Manufacturing North West Championship – Cheshire Heat
Venue: Cottons Hotel and Spa, Manchester Road, Knutsford, WA16 0SU
Date: Thursday 15th December 2016 (9.30am-3.00pm)
Age Group: Year 9 (1 x teams of 8 pupils)
The Manufacturing Institute’s Make It campaign is a programme of education-business linked activities designed to support the curriculum and to create partnerships between schools and manufacturing partners.
The Make It Enterprise Challenges are one-day events held across the North West and supported by a host of business partners including BAE Systems, Survitec, Kellogg’s and McBride. Your closest heat will be sponsored by 5 local employers all looking to nurture new talent and encourage rewarding careers.
On the day, teams from up to 12 schools will set up their own manufacturing businesses and compete to create a new product. They will be judged on their understanding of the design brief, the successful completion of key tasks and their enterprising skills and qualities. The winning team from the heat will go on to represent their school at the North West Championship Grand Final on the 15th March 2017 at Manchester United Football Club.
