A Year in Your School Gardening Club
This course is full of fun projects and activities to help you keep your gardening club flourishing in all weathers and seasons throughout the year. Learn basic horticulture skills and find out about safety aspects and practical considerations needed to set up and run a successful gardening club.

Growing and Cooking with Maths and Science throughout the Seasons with Open Futures
This is a hands-on workshop that will equip you to teach the fundamental skills of growing and cooking to your pupils whilst ensuring their safety in the garden or kitchen. In the morning you will learn knife skills including the bridge and claw method and try your hand at making soups, salads and healthy puddings using these and other techniques. The afternoon will be spent in the vegetable garden practicing seasonal jobs appropriate to the time of year. In both sessions we will explore some of the fascinating science behind seasonal changes in the garden as well as exploring new ingredients and recipes.

Investigate Primary Plant Science through the Garden
School gardens are a fantastic resource to help children develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about the natural world. Learn to inspire them through the wonder of plants and send them on a journey of investigation and discovery as they explore the science of the garden. During the day you will enjoy practical activities linked to soils, plant anatomy and plant classification. We will also teach you seed sowing and propagation techniques to bring your lessons on plant lifecycles to life.
